My friend and I happened upon this Mexican restaurant between the holidays in 2021. Every time we go to Grand Junction we stop and eat here. Have always enjoyed the food and large portions. On February 3rd, 2022, I brought my leftovers home as I usually do. This time I found a small pebble rock in the rice. I called the restaurant to let them know and they refunded my meal. I'm just glad I didn't break a tooth or swallowed it. I'm disappointed because I really liked this quaint place. Doubtful I'll be back though.
Go in the day time, 4 stars. Anytime after 11pm on weekends or even weekdays they get so packed with a drunk hoard its almost not worth the wait, and drama, 2 stars. Still a great local spot just choose the time wisely. Also inside dining is closed on weekends because of said problem above.
El J's as its commonly known is a really good restaurant for the price. Open 24/7. The Carne Asada Burrito an Superfries are my go to. It does get BUSY sometimes. Make sure to try the sauces too.
The 5 Stars are strictly for the Menudo. Best menudo in town, hands down. Flavor is on point. I've had other items from the menu and it's good but the Menudo on the weekends is fantastic.
Order 6 rolled tacos with guac and cheese that costs almost $10, this is what I received. Half the gaucs on one side and cheese on the other, honestly my niece could do a better job than this. Won’t be coming back, I’d rather just get Wendy’s or Tacobell for this quality of food.
Food is always amazing and service is great i love the super fries. I have a lot of food allergies but they're pretty good about taking ingredients off when I ask and I eat here all the time. Best restaurant for drunk food after the bar. It gets very hectic and super busy which can be insane and lowers the environment score. If you are okay with occasionally being stuck for an hour in line getting food show up here around 2 am after bars close on weekends. Otherwise it is typically not too busy and always good to get los j's
Love Los J’s! The food is always so good! Made to order! Restrooms are always available as long as you purchase something. My only complaint is the owner will Not allow you to purchase a cup of water if you come inside during a late night visit. I mean, I understand why, people are always trying to get one over on the beverage station by ordering a water cup but that completely ruins it for people such as myself who truly and honestly prefer water over soda. Other than that we LOVE going to Jilberto’s for anything on the menu, my particular favorite being their Super Fries! Yum!
My goto for lunch when in Grand Junction! Mine's the Carne Asada burrito, add sour cream. Super tasty and a meal in one burrito for a reasonable price. The Carne Asada fries are also excellent. Friendly service and the exact vibe I expect in a good Mexican food place! Keep up the great work.
First time trying this place in town from Denver for business. Solid burrito very filling stuffed with a lot of carne asada. It's well worth the $8 for a carne asada burrito. Only thing stopping it from a 5 star rating was it doesn't come with beans or cheese but overall still very good. Check this spot out 1 burrito is almost enough to feed two people huge portion. The green salsa was delicious as well.
